Back to Reality

Lounging around the house.

Headed off the the happiest place on Earth... Target!

Yesterday I returned to work. Yes, my carefree days of sleeping in and lounging around the house in my pajamas with Eli are gone! What I will miss the most is the little things like missing Eli while he is napping and then wishing it were nap time when he is attached to me like glue! Taking walks to Target and Panera in the BOB. And of course being there when he does something new. Like just on Monday he learned to say turtle. And on Sunday he started making silly faces to make me laugh. Whenever I ask him to see a silly face he'll stick out his tongue or open his mouth real big and roll back his eyes. He is so funny!

I am very happy with the care he is getting while I am working. Originally I planned to take him to the daycare that my niece goes to. It would be convenient for both my sister and I to help each other out. But since Eli has so many breathing issues and requires frequent breathing treatments for his asthma, I realized daycare is not a healthy choice for him. So Stacey, the sister-in-law of one of my dearest and oldest friends is taking care of him. She is an AMAZING mother! The past two days he has been very happy there and has only cried when I've come to pick him up (happy tears!) and when her husband is too close (yep, he has developed a fear of men). My only fear is that he will like her more than me.

Luckily I have great students this year and they have made the transition back to work a lot easier!
