My LITTLE Man

Yesterday Eli went to his second pediatrician appointment since he's been home. The good news is that all of his blood work came back normal. The bad news is that he has lost weight. Last month he weighed in at 15lbs. 12 oz. This month he he down to 15lbs. 7 oz. He is now below the third percentile for weight. He did however, grow an inch in the last month and is in the 70th percentile for height. He measures in at 29 1/2 inches!

The two main contributing factors to his weight loss are his increase in activity and his spitting up issues. I can't feed him more than 5oz at a time or it just comes up...EVERYWHERE! I was using Enfamil AR formula and it seemed to help for a while. I did last week switch to soy formula which seems to be helping a bit. He does a little better with solids so Eli will be eating more solids than liquids. And to increase his calorie intake the Dr. recommended that I put butter and/or olive oil in his foods. So this morning Eli had cereal mixed with olive oil. YUM!!

Last Saturday I had another Birthday. Eli gave me the best Birthday present ever! He said Mama TWICE! Happy Birthday to me!

Happy belated birthday! I'm sure his weight will catch up with the olive oil. (:

Eli is so adorable. Yohannes was not on the charts for the first 2 mths being home, they catch up pretty quick, now he has a belly! I think he shrunk a bit though :-p
Happy Belated Birthday!

Got BUTTER?

Christy,
Did they check him for reflux? I know some babies who spit up a lot have reflux and medicine can help them keep their food down much better. Good luck. He is such a cutie!

Happy Birthday...and what a wonderful present. Our daughter Simret (who is 16 months now) has said "mama" multiple times...but still calls me "dada" on a regular basis. She is learning so many words...but still calls me "dada"? What a beautiful boy you have...and no worries about the weight...

Oh he is so cute! Abe wasn't on the chart at first and has slowly gained weight. I bet with his added oil, he will chunk up pretty nicely. Wouldn't that be awesome if the Dr told us to add some butter to each of our meals!! :)
